In short: the app’s core data is stored on your device. STANCE TRAQ GOLF contains no advertising SDKs and no proprietary user tracking. Data is transmitted only where required for a feature you choose to use—for example, weather data from Apple—or when you export data or contact us yourself.

2. Core principle: local on your device
The current version of STANCE TRAQ GOLF is designed as a local-first app. No STANCE TRAQ user account is required. There is no proprietary cloud backend to which your rounds, club data, or swing videos are automatically uploaded.
Where data is processed exclusively on your iPhone or Apple Watch and is not accessible to us, we do not receive that data. The following information nevertheless explains which data the app uses on your device.
3. Data processed in the app
Profile and settings
Skill level, handedness, handicap index, language, onboarding status, and an optional profile photo. This data is used for personalization and stored locally.
Round and performance data
Golf course, date, tee, hole scores, putts, penalties, play mode, duration, shot positions, and measured shot distances. The app uses these to create round history, statistics, and personal club distances.
Club data
Club name and type, loft, personal carry and total distance, and the number of confirmed samples. This data is used for personalized Smart Caddie recommendations.
Swing recordings and analysis values
Videos recorded or selected by you, body points, movement phases, angles, metrics, confidence values, and optional notes. Pose analysis is performed on-device using Apple Vision. The analysis provides training guidance and is not a medical or professional diagnosis.
Course calibration
Optionally captured coordinates, altitude, horizontal accuracy, timestamp, and number of GPS samples. You can export and import calibrations as JSON files.
Where the GDPR applies to processing carried out by us, the legal basis is the provision of the app features you choose under Article 6(1)(b) GDPR together with your device settings and permissions. Optional features are used only after you select them.
4. Device permissions
- Location while using the app: remaining distances, map position, shot tracking, course calibration, and location-based weather.
- Camera: recording a golf swing and alignment assistance.
- Microphone: audio for a swing recording.
- Photo library: voluntary selection of existing swing videos or a profile image.
- Apple Watch motion sensors: detection of orientation and possible shots during a round or recording.
You can change permissions at any time in iOS or watchOS settings. Without a permission, dependent features may be unavailable or limited.
5. Apple services and connected devices
WeatherKit / Apple Weather
When you request live weather for caddie or round features, the selected location is sent to Apple Weather to provide temperature, wind, and precipitation. According to Apple, the location used by WeatherKit is not associated with personally identifiable information and is not tracked across requests. The last successful weather response is cached locally.

Apple Watch / WatchConnectivity
For features you select, data such as round status, hole data, distances, score, camera status, preview images, and detected shots is exchanged between your paired iPhone and Apple Watch within Apple’s device system.
App Store and TestFlight
When installing, purchasing, or beta testing the app, Apple processes data independently under its privacy policies. The diagnostics and usage data you share with Apple and developers also depend on your device settings.
6. Use of this website
Technical access data
When a website is accessed, technical data such as IP address, time, requested file, data volume, referrer, browser, and operating system is transmitted to the web server. The hosting provider may temporarily process this data in server logs to provide the website securely and reliably. The legal basis is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR; our legitimate interest is secure and error-free operation.
Language preference
The website stores only your “DE” or “EN” language selection locally in your browser. No advertising, analytics, or tracking cookies are used.
External fonts and tracking
The website does not load fonts from Google or other external font services. Google Analytics, advertising networks, social media pixels, and comparable tracking technologies are not currently integrated.
Recipient category: The hosting service used for public delivery processes technical access data solely to provide, secure, and maintain the website as a processor.
7. Contacting us
If you contact us by email or phone, we process your contact details and request to handle and answer it. The legal basis is Article 6(1)(b) GDPR for contract-related requests or Article 6(1)(f) GDPR for other requests. Emails are processed through GMX; the relevant email provider’s privacy terms also apply.
8. Retention and deletion
Locally stored app data generally remains until you delete it within the app or remove the app and its data from the device. Individual rounds, swing sessions, shots, clubs, and calibration points can be deleted within the app. Exported files remain under your control.
We delete contact details and messages once the request has been fully handled and no statutory retention obligation or legitimate interest requires continued storage. Server logs are deleted or anonymized under the selected hosting provider’s policy.
9. Your data protection rights
Where we process your personal data, and subject to applicable legal requirements, you have rights including access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability, and objection to processing based on legitimate interests.
You may withdraw consent at any time with effect for the future. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection authority, in particular at your habitual residence, place of work, or the place of the alleged infringement.
To exercise your rights, email sebastiankautz@gmx.de. We cannot technically access app data stored exclusively on your device. You can manage it directly in the app or by deleting the app.
10. Data security and automated decisions
The app uses security mechanisms provided by iOS, watchOS, and the relevant device. Transfers to Apple services use interfaces provided by Apple. Despite appropriate safeguards, no electronic storage or transmission can guarantee absolute security.
The Smart Caddie is rule-based and explains its recommendation. Swing analysis provides training guidance. No automated decision is made that produces legal effects concerning you or similarly significantly affects you.
11. Changes to this privacy policy
We update this privacy policy when features, services, or legal requirements change. The version published on this page is the applicable version.
